Hi! Welcome to Great Little Insights! 👋
What I Write About
I write about the conflicting battles we face as we navigate through life's challenges and the pressures we feel from family, society and the wider world. Particularly around topics such as; life balance, work, parenting, midlife and the importance of ours and our children's mental wellbeing.
As a highly sensitive and observant empath, I share my own experiences and insights with raw honesty, compassion and a healthy dollop of humour.
Why I Write
I write because it helps me process my many, many thoughts and experiences; but also because I hope to inspire and bring more empathy and self-compassion into the world. To help people feel heard, understood, less alone and hopefully bring some joy and laughter too ❤️
“My dream is to help nurture the wellbeing of the next generation by giving parents the tools, connection, compassion and empathy THEY need in order to support their OWN wellbeing. Thus, in turn, giving them the energy, patience, understanding and capacity that their children need from them.”

Who is this space for?
This space is for anyone (parent or not) who might be overwhelmed, a bit lost, lacking in self-esteem or beating themselves up regularly.
Someone who is (or was) a people pleaser, over-achiever, perfectionist, all or any of the above.
You might want a refreshing, re-assuring take on life and to feel seen and understood, valued and heard.
You are able to laugh at yourself and the shit life throws at us… or you WANT to be able to at the very least!
You’d like insights, recommendations and links to useful resources to help you navigate life as a parent, perimenopausal woman, self-sabotager or chronic-inner-critic-listener.
You’re a person who (like me) thinks they might just be on the edge of running out of fucks to give!!
Who is it NOT for?
This space is NOT for the following types of people…
Those who might be easily offended, don’t like swearing, truth bombs and/or mildly inappropriate jokes/comments.
People who don’t like emojis - I’m obsessed!! 🙈🫣😜😳😆🤓😎👍🎉❤️🥴
Folks who take themselves too seriously and/or can’t (or aren’t even open to) laugh(ing) at themselves! 🙄
Anyone looking for regular, heavily scheduled, run-like-clockwork, predictable posts/routine from me and my writing - That shit just DOES NOT WORK FOR ME!!
Sorry… nope… NOT Sorry!! 😉Those who are quick to judge and/or have zero tolerance for forgetfulness, lateness, scattiness, or a person who embodies ALL of those things! But is also kind, thoughtful, funny, accepting, warm and welcoming ☺️

About Me
Hi! I’m Eva, a writer, graphic designer and mother of two. Living in rural Hampshire, England and juggling the usual challenges of life with kids. Whilst also managing an, often debilitating, chronic health condition.
As the founder of a small start up company offering a variety of Graphic Design and Digital Services, I’m very fortunate to have some (not much 🙄) time and flexibility to also focus on writing.
I am passionate about the importance of maintaining our own mental wellbeing. I hope to support/inspire other parents to see their true worth and value through sharing raw and honest insights into life as a 40-something, perimenopausal, parent with a disability.
I’m here on Substack after a long and arduous journey of self-doubt, criticism and self-sabotage. For reasons I am still discovering, I never believed that I was good enough and I wouldn’t have anything of any worth to share.
Then, after divorcing the co-founder of my children… (yes, I stole that from
😉)… I finally got out of my own way and re-discovered my voice!Read more about Why I (Finally) Started Writing in my Welcome Post…
