Hi Guys!
Here are my favourite three books from my many, many reads throughout August and September…
‘The Discomfort Zone’ – Farrah Storr
What a great book! Thank you Farrah for climbing inside my brain, unscrambling it and reprogramming it to deal with (healthy) discomfort long enough to actually get shit done!
I’m not quite sure how you’ve done it, but I do remember having quite a few “Ah ha!” moments throughout the book and something has obviously clicked into place. Since reading it, just a few short weeks ago, I have propelled forwards with my life goals more than I have in over 10 years!!
If, like me, you have been procrastinating and making excuses for years; but you really WANT to make progress in your life – READ THIS BOOK!!
Using her great sense of humour, Farrah writes in a way that is so relatable and draws from her own (gripping) life experiences, as she concisely guides you through the unexpected ways to get to where you need to be. It’s all to do with becoming comfortable with being uncomfortable – Oh, just read it; you’ll see what I mean.
Thank you
, you have fixed me! 🧡‘Life on a High’ – Nick Spalding
You may have noticed I have read a few of Nick Spalding’s books recently and he is fast becoming one of my favourite authors. I just love his writing style and very relatable stories that leave you craving more. His wicked sense of humour is present throughout every one of his books and will often have you laughing out loud!
“Life on a High” is no exception. A hilariously funny, possibly a bit silly and thoroughly entertaining read about Nick’s real-life experiences and toe-curling mishaps. A great relaxing easy read that will have you giggling away, as Nick discusses a number of subjects and is definitely NOT ‘pc’ about it as he does so. How refreshing! 😉
Written in its entirety at 40,000 feet on a 48 hour round trip to Australia, Nick manages to make you feel as if you are right there in business class with him. Cheers! 🥂
‘How We Met’ – Huma Quresh
I thoroughly enjoyed this fabulous memoir, written by Huma Qureshi. Recommended to me by somebody here on Substack (sorry, I forget who) and I am so grateful that they did.
Huma writes with clear intellect and injects some lovely humour along the way, throughout her compelling story of love, loss, family, passion, religious & cultural differences and friendships. I found myself gripped by Huma’s words as she intertwines stories from now and then, in a way that leaves you always wanting more.
This book was hard to put down and although (as Huma says herself) you are aware from the beginning how it turns out in the end, there is something intriguing and thoroughly exciting about the complex and humbling story of how they get there.
Beautifully written, I thoroughly recommend!

I've just started Kindling by Bonnie Woods and have nearly finished the audiobook of Rewitched by Lucy Jane Wood which is really good, both perfect for the Autumn. Also ready Favourite Mistake by Marian Keyes and highly recommend too. I've got The Discomfort Zone on my Kindle, I need to read it after your review! X
Ooh I bought Farrah's book over summer but haven't got round to it yet - now ramping it up the TBR pile! Thanks for sharing :)
