Dear Readers,
Something NEW for you today!
I recorded a little five minute voice-note that I wanted to share with you. Iโm calling it a bite-size โMini-Podโ and if you like it, Iโll make some more! ๐
Iโve decided to call this little (experimental) project of mine โThe Parent Podโ - because itโs cute, it rolls off the tongue and I love it, so why not!
What is The Parent Pod?
Good questionโฆ This idea was sparked by listening to โs lovely little โPep-Talksโ she puts out on a Monday for her community members. I thoroughly recommend Selinaโs Substack by the way, it really is a joyful up-lifting place, with a lovely community of inspiring and supportive members. ๐ฅฐ
Anywayโฆ So, the idea is that I will record random voice-notes of whatever parenting insight Iโm thinking about at the time. Whether that be a quick tip or a technique Iโve tried, a little golden nugget of wisdom Iโve picked up, or perhaps even an epic fail Iโd like to share. It will all be coming your wayโฆ The good, the bad and the ugly! ๐ฅด
I am always striving to share the whole story (warts and all) of my parenting journey, because with the comparison trap getting bigger and bigger (thanks to social media and the shear volume of content online) we need to know (more than ever) that we are NOT the only ones who get it wrong!
We need to hold each-other up and be prepared to admit, โOk, I failed at this bit, but I am tryingโ. To be real and to be human, thatโs what we need as parents and thatโs what our children need us to be too. โค๏ธ
A Little Sound Issue ๐ฌ
Unfortunately, after recording this โepisodeโ (if we can call it that ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ) I realised that the sound occasionally dips to a much lower volume. Iโve tried to fix this as best as I could - because I did NOT want to re-record it, damn it! ๐ So, itโs not perfect, but I think Iโve got it to a level where there wonโt be any volume spikes loud enough to burst your ear drums! Anyway, there we have itโฆ Enjoy!
The Book I Mentioned
โRaising a Happier Child Motherโ by Anna Mathur
Ok, thatโs it for today - I promise I will use a proper microphone next time, so hopefully no sound issues from now on.๐ค
As always, thanks so much for reading/listening and do let me know if youโve enjoyed it by clicking on the little โค๏ธ at the bottom. Thank you! โบ๏ธ

Mine are 28 and 21 but had to drop in and put a voice on your name. Lovely piece and well done for just going for it. We are both just finding our way around Substack, we'll be experts in no time!
