Dear Readers,
I just had to sit down immediately to tell you all about an AMAZING ‘EFT Tapping’ session with of Rise & Vibe. The impact of just a few minutes of tapping my face and repeating some (very carefully selected) phrases, absolutely blew me away!
Side Note: Please bear in mind, that I am a “Highly Sensitive Person” and feel emotions and other “Vibes” (shall we say) with great force. Therefore, I can’t guarantee that a short tapping session will have a similar level of impact on you. However, it WILL be having some impact for sure!
What is EFT Tapping?
For those who may not be aware, EFT Tapping is…
“a simple, powerful technique that helps calm your nervous system, feel less stressed and think more clearly.
With tapping we say it, feel it and let it go. Many women I work with are surprised by how much tension and emotion they are holding onto and how much lighter they feel afterwards”
Taken from Jo’s ‘About’ Page - Find out more HERE
is a Certified Confidence and Menopause Coach & EFT Practitioner and has a Substack Publication called Rise & Vibe, where writes a blog and has a membership which offers weekly Tapping Rest Live Classes. The session I attended was one of Jo’s membership classes and it did not disappoint!
So, What the Hell Just Happened?
Well, I’m still processing it all myself to be honest. I had tried one or two of Jo’s sessions before – one time in the bath actually… What? Too much info? 😆 Look… the bathroom is the one place I can lock the door and keep everyone out, ok!
(Another) Side Note: Does anyone else find that people seem to respect a bath-do-not-disturb request? “Going for a lie down” – Pah! Forget it! But, bath… All good 👍 I’m already pre-planning cold baths through the summer, to keep the rest-routine going! 🤣
Ok, enough about me in the bath… Right, sorry… The tapping… We started the (group) session - which was all about brain fog today - with a lovely chat about Perimenopause, women’s hormones and how they heavily impact our brains, which was super interesting – Thanks Jo! 🙏
We then went on to discuss the ways in which Brain Fog can impact our wellbeing and our lives as a whole. I even felt compelled to admit that it hit me particularly hard one day, when I just COMPLETELY forgot to pick up my daughter from school! It turns out I’m NOT the only one! 🎉 Don’t you just love it when people open up and help you feel less like a freaking failure/moron! Thanks ladies! 🙌
I think this might be what helped to make it so impactful, as Jo personalised the phrases to fit the ways we’d all been feeling. So, off we go… tap, tap, tap! After the initial urge to giggle like a 5 year old (I know, sorry 🙄), I closed my eyes, focused on the present moment and tapped along calmly and gently.😌
I immediately breathed a sigh of relief and instantly felt lighter and more relaxed. Then, Jo got to the bit where she says the lovely re-assuring things. We went with the house burning down analogy, as we’d discussed it before-hand, saying that’s what brain fog can feel like sometimes. (Anyone feel like this too? – I’ll meet you in the comments👇). I was tapping my head and saying:
“What if my brain isn’t broken”, “What if I’m getting a new upgrade”… “I’m re-building inside”, “Maybe my house isn’t burning down”… “I choose to acknowledge what I’m going through”, “I choose to notice how I’m feeling”
Then, it hit me and I started to cry! It was like I had needed to for days (maybe even weeks!) – as I relaxed and allowed myself to absorb the kind words. It was like my body/mind was saying – “Oh, thank fuck for that! You’re finally looking after yourself!” 🥺
At this point I turned my camera off (no one needs to see ‘ugly crying’ on a Wednesday lunchtime!) but I continued to tap (with Jo’s guidance) and the relief and subsequent joy I felt was immense!
Just from taking a few minutes out of my day to focus on my own wellbeing for a change – Just gorgeous 💝
Until next time,
