Dear Readers,
Welcome to my delightful little review of Miranda Hart’s fabulous book - “I Haven’t Been Entirely Honest With You”
I actually finished this wonderful book I while ago, but I was a bit stunned about the effect it had on me, so didn’t quite know what to say right away. I honestly was not expecting it to have the profound effect it did, and I think that was perhaps because I wasn’t totally clear on what it was about. I absolutely adore Miranda and immediately wanted to read the book, after I saw her talking about it on Graham Norton one Friday night.

I decided on the audio book, as unfortunately the arthritis in my hands doesn’t allow for the comfortable reading of a hardback. 🙄 However, I do thoroughly recommend the audio version if you are a fan of Miranda, as it is narrated by the gorgeous lady herself (complete with little ‘Miranda-esque’ quips that we all know and love her for). Such fun! 😉
Following Miranda’s lovely invitation to join her as she delves into her story of chronic illness and loneliness throughout the last decade and beyond, I was immediately captivated by her wonderful story telling, paired with cleverly placed moments of humour. Miranda manages to find the perfect balance of just enough humour throughout the book, that doesn’t detract from the seriousness of the matter, but adds a light-heartedness when it is needed most.
As Miranda’s story continued I found myself identifying with so much of how she has felt throughout her life. Once I understood that her story was largely to do with her chronic illness and inevitable burn out, due to being misdiagnosed for decades – as so many of us are, unfortunately – I was in for the duration. What happened next was truly life changing… I know that sounds quite dramatic, but bear with… 😉
I found myself understanding how our bodies, immune & nervous systems and brains work more than I ever have before! Totally unexpectedly, Miranda somehow manages to explain all the ‘science bits’ in a way that doesn’t sound like another language, send you to sleep OR make you feel like an idiot for not realising these things before! As she takes you through her own (often hilarious) experiences and her big moments of revelation… “Heavy Revies” as she calls them, you may find yourself laughing, crying or even needing to lift your jaw back up off the floor, as you yourself have some very “Heavy Revies” of your own.
So, if you have ever suffered or are suffering with exhaustion, chronic fatigue, autoimmune disease or stress and/or burn out – Read this book! Let Miranda take you on a whimsical journey of discovery and guide you through the ten keys to living and feeling well. The research has been done for you and beautifully summarised in this one magical book, which will leave you feeling confident to be your uniquely wonderful, weird and wonky self. Armed with the tools, knowledge and understanding to embark on your own journey of discovery. To find joy, peace, safety, comfort and freedom in your one and precious life.
Thank you for reading my little review 😊 If you enjoyed it, do remember to click on the little heart to let me know… and feel free to share this (public) post wherever you like. Thank you! 🤩

I love this woman yet I had no idea what her last name was. I just knew her as Miranda. I love when she shows up in shows and movies. It's a little treat in the U.S. This would be great as an audio book. Thanks for letting me know about the book.
Thank you for this lovely book review Eva 💛 I love Miranda and this is now on my TBR pile xx
